Rodent Car Repeller - WK0508
Rats, mice, squirrels, martens, chipmunks and other destructive rodents often shelter under the hood of vehicles and damage wiring harnesses, cables and other expensive parts. Rodent Car Repeller - WK0508 - Weitech is designed to protect materials against the gnawing of rodents. It prevents damage to the wires and hoses in your car, camper van, lawnmower, tractor, etc.
Rodent Car Damage
- Rodents and other animals might take shelter under the hood of your car.
- Especially during winter and cold days.
- Car engines are usually warm, dry and undisturbed, providing an ideal shelter for rodents' feeding, resting or breeding.
- Some of the components used to manufacture spark plug wires, hoses and turbo hoses are made from corn or potato starch, others from sugar cane; and rodents love them.
- Once in there, rodents can cause considerable damage to the car.
- Engine wires are particularly vulnerable to rodent damage. If rodents chew away the insulation covering the wires, it can cause short circuits, resulting in expensive damage to engine.
- The cost of repairing damage can range from € 100 up to € 3,000 if a full wiring harness needs replacing.
Rodent Car Repeller - Effectiveness
- The Rodent Car Repeller emits ultrasounds and light flashes.
- Ultrasonic
- The speaker emits high-pitched ultrasounds varying between 25 - 55 KHz to annoy and cause intense auditory stress to rodents.
- Constantly variable high-intensity ultrasonic pulses (inaudible). The ultrasound frequency varies over time to prevent rodents growing accustomed to it.
- Flash Lights
- The device also includes LED strobe lights that target their eyesight.
- These LED strobe lights flash to target rodents' eyesight, making the engine compartment an unbearable environment for rodents to live and nest.
- The ultrasounds and lights create a hostile environment under the bonnet for rodents or pests to live, and force them to move on and escape from your car.
- Its effectiveness has been tested and demonstrated by independent laboratories.
- Easy to install.
- Connects to 12 or 24 volts car battery.
- On/Off Button. The On/Off switch allows you to turn on/off the Rodent Car Repellent when necessary.
- Low power consumption.
- Low-voltage protection.
Rodent Car Repeller - Installation
- Install the Rodent Car Repeller under the car bonnet. Avoid areas that get too hot (e.g. the exhaust manifold).
- Connect the white connector to the port on the ultrasonic rodent car repeller.
- Connect the red wire to the positive terminal on the car battery.
- Connect the black wire to the negative terminal on the car battery.
- Use cable ties to attach the device safely to the engine compartment. Do not put the device anywhere where it could get in the way of moving parts.
Rodent Car Repeller - Operation
- Press the ON/OFF button to turn the Rodent Car Repeller on. The 4 LED lights flash for 2 seconds.
- The light in the centre flashes red rapidly for 10 seconds. The device is on.
- Ultrasonic repeller mode for 120 seconds: alternating ultrasound and flashes. Emission of ultrasound varying between 25 kHz and 55 kHz.
- Ultrasonic repeller mode for 180 seconds. The device repeats the cycles in stages 3 and 4 as long as no engine vibration is detected.
Rodent Car Repeller - Vehicle Safety
- The transmitter does not affect the vehicle's features
- Auto-standby
- Enters standby mode to save battery power when you are driving.
- The device only works when the vehicle's engine is off.
- Auto-start

I live in the countryside, and for years rats have chewed through the cables around my car's engine, sometimes even bringing food and sleeping on top of it. I’ve tried using bait to get rid of them, but I rely heavily on my car, which is expensive (Lexus NX hybrid). I installed a rat repeller I bought online, but it turned out it was only for martens, not rats, with a frequency range of just 12-25 KHz. I'm not sure if the ultrasound bothered the rats, but after a few days, they were back, although for less time. I had my doubts about that device, so I decided to buy this repeller from Birdgard Ibérica. I can say it’s much more effective, with double the KHz range and lights that the other one didn’t have. I highly recommend this ultrasonic repeller. So far, no more rat problems, and I hope it stays that way.
