Description

The Kestrel Nesting Box – Econex is an ideal solution to increase the availability of breeding shelters for the Common Kestrel (Falco tinnunculus), one of the most common raptors in urban and suburban environments. Installing this box supports kestrel conservation and helps improve ecological balance by promoting natural control of small rodents and insects.

Constructed from 2 cm thick solid wood, this nesting box is PEFC and FSC certified, ensuring sustainable and responsibly managed forestry. Additionally, it features a hazelnut honey-colored exterior wood stain that enhances its resistance to harsh weather conditions. Its double-layered roof, consisting of a solid wood base and an outer plywood panel, provides extra thermal insulation to better protect the chicks.

This optimized nesting box design includes an external entrance platform and an internal exit platform to facilitate access and movement for kestrels. The front panel features a 20 x 19 cm fold-down opening, allowing easy interior inspection without compromising the structure. The entire nesting box is reinforced with screws and includes a metal hook for easy installation.
